Basque Club of Utah Annual Picnic
The Basque Club of Utah will host its annual Club Picnic on Sunday, June 26th at the Union Park Pavilion (7300 S. 580 E.). Festivities will begin with mass at noon followed by a BBQ lunch with a choice of steak, or chorizo, accompanied by beans, salad, bread and cheese. Cost of the Steak Lunch is $14; Txorizo lunch is $8, or a Txorizo sandwich is $3. The afternoon will include performances by the Utah’ko Triskalariak, horseshoes, souvenirs for sale and kid’s games. NABO Convention Will be Hosted by New England Basque Club
The New England Basque Club is happy to announce that it will finally be able to host this year’s NABO Convention, Friday August 26th-27th in New London. The NABO summer meeting will take place on Friday, August 26th beginning at 10:30am ET with a meet and greet. A block of rooms has been held at the Holiday Inn where the meeting will take place, which is also adjacent the festival venue. Festival activities will be on Saturday the 27th and will include dancing, Herri Kirolak, and lots of good food and drink. Txoko Ona's San Juan Festival in Homedale
Our friends at the Txoko Ona Basque Club in Homedale, Idaho will celebrate San Juan on Saturday, June 25th with live music, dancing, Basque food and a bonfire! Gates will open at 4pm with a Mus tournament beginning at 5pm. At 6pm, enjoy a performance by the local children’s dance group, followed by a performance by the Oinkari Basque Dancers from Boise. Traditional San Juan games, live music and dancing will follow. This is a free event and is open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and shade canopies.
