Song of the Basque 2

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Boise Basque community’s production, “Song of the Basque,” that debuted in 1949, as part of Boise’s Music Week, members of the Basque community presented “Song of the Basque 2: the Legacy Continues” last Saturday at the Morrison Center again as part of the Boise Music Week Festival.  The intent of the original show was to share the Basque culture, customs, songs, music and dance with their American neighbors.  This year’s representation told the story of the Basques who came to the area and their becoming Basque-Americans while maintaining their Basque traditions.  For those of us not lucky enough to see the show in person, Boise’s Channel 7, KTVB, has provided a link to a video of the program in its entirety.  To watch the show click here. Zorionak!
