Josu Okiñena's US Tour
As reported last week, Josu Okiñena, renowned Basque pianist, is touring the US as part of the Etxepare Basque Institute's Atxaga Chair. Okiñena will be performing various works by Aita Donostia (1886-1956) in four different US cities, thanks to his sponsors, the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports, and the Etxepare Basque Institute. His tour will begin in New York on October 10th to be followed by a stop in Reno and a performance on the UNR campus at Nightingale Concert Hall on October 15th. He will then return to the east coast to perform in Chicago, followed by two dates in Miami. For complete concert information on Josu, as well as concert dates and times, visit his website.

Berri Txarrak's New CD
We also heard from our good friends Berri Txarrak who have recently released their latest work: "Denbora da Poligrafo Bakarra" (Time is The Only Polygraph). This collection contains 3 CDs featuring 20 songs, one for each year that the group has been together, produced by three different producers. These three producers: Ross Robinson (Venice, CA); Ricky Falkner (Madrid, Spain); and Bill Stevenson (Fort Collins, Colorado), all come at rock music in their own way, but all agree that the focus is on the song.
