Big Horn Basque Club Special Event
This Friday, Basques in Buffalo, Wyoming will be celebrating August 15th as they have since Basques came to that area. This year, however, the Big Horn Basque Club is hosting a special event to recognize the Basque immigrants that came and settled there. Festivities will begin at 11am with mass at St. John the Baptist Church celebrated by Fr. Peter Johnson. Later that evening, Peter John Camino will cater a dinner at the Johnson County Fairgrounds at 5:30pm. Following dinner, the immigrants that came to Johnson County will be recognized with each family receiving a plaque designed by local artist, Paige Money that says, "In honor of helping to establish the Basque community of Johnson County." Besides the plaque, a pamphlet has also been prepared that includes the stories of many of these individuals along with a photo display of the honorees and their families. After the ceremony, music will be provided by the Fireants. To RSVP or get more information email email@example.com.

We also found out that a Basque Grand Prix Motorcycle racer, Bilbao native Efren Vazquez, took his first career win at the Moto3 race at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix. This race consisting of 23 laps was Vazquez's first win in his 116 Grand Prix race appearances. For complete results and statistics click here. Zorionak Efren!
