Aberri Eguna at New England Basque Club
The New England Basque club, formerly known as the Rhode Island Basque club, will be celebrating Aberri Eguna this Saturday March 29th from 4pm-9pm. The event will take place at the Middletown Knights of Columbus Hall and will include rural sports demonstrations, dinner prepared by Chef Ismael Biurrun and a concert by Basque-American musician Mikel Aramberri who will perform music by Mikel Laboa, Itoiz, Benito Lertxundi and Oskorri. HABE Invites You to Participate in Continuous Reading of Aresti's Harri eta Herri
In preparation for the 7th edition of Klasikoen irakurketa jarraitua (Classics Continuous Reading) HABE has sent an invitation to Basque students around the world to participate. The goal of the event is to highlight the Basque language by having passages of a Basque classic read by Basque students from different places and social sectors. This year's work is Harri eta Herri by Gabriel Aresti that will be read non-stop from 8am-10pm on May 22nd. The work will be divided into passages with participants recording themselves reading them. These recordings will then be collected and compiled and shown at the Arriaga Theater in Bilbao during the event.
