NABO Udaleku 2014

eguzkiaThis year's Udaleku, children's Basque culture camp, will be hosted by Elko's Euzkaldunak Basque club June 22-July 4th with this year's theme being Bizkaia. The two-week event allows kids between the ages of 10 and 15 the opportunity to learn more about their Basque culture, while having fun and making new friends along the way. Online applications for this year will be made available this Saturday, March 1st at 6pm (Pacific Standard Time).

This year's application will include two parts: the first will be a short initial application that will establish the entry list to camp, with a more complete application being sent to those who are accepted, along with an invoice that will need to be paid within five days to secure your spot.

CBS and Cultural Heritage Month at University of Nevada, Reno

Heritage MonthThe Center for Basque Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, has been invited by the Center for Student Cultural Diversity to host its Cultural Heritage month during the month of March. The Center has organized a wide array of Basque cultural events on campus throughout the month and invites anyone interested to attend. All events are free and open to the public. These include: Mus lessons, dancing with the Zazpiak Bat Basque club dancers, film, food and a lot more. Reno Zazpiak Bat Basque Club March Potluck and Mus

musMarch 1st also marks the date of the Zazpiak Bat Basque Club's annual March Potluck and Mus Tournament being held this year at the American Legion Hall (877 Ralston Street) in Reno. Mus registration is at 8am with play beginning promptly at 9am. If you're going for the good food and fun, the doors open at 11am, with the dancers performing at noon and lunch served following.
