Triskalariak to Perform at Museum Event
The Utah’ko Triskalariak will be performing at the Chase Home Museum in the center of Liberty Park on Monday, July 20th at 7pm as part of Mondays in the Park. Since 1987, this free event has featured traditional folk music and cultural dance performances form Utah’s diverse communities. Bring along your lawn chair, and/or blanket and enjoy with friends and family.
Mus Madness at the BCC
Please join the fun this Sunday, July 19th at the Basque Cultural Center for Mus Madness beginning at 8:30am. Walk-ins are always welcome, lunch reservations are required, so please reach out to the organizers if you are interested. Sunday’s menu includes soup of the day, lamb cheeks, roast New York with French fries and mixed vegetables, salad, cheese and burnt Basque Cheesecake. This event is offered to anyone who loves to play Mus! Sorte on deneri!

44th Annual Gooding Basque Picnic
Please join the Gooding Basque Association on Sunday, July 19th for its 44th Annual Basque Picnic, at the Gooding Basque Center. The day will begin with mass at 11am celebrated by Aita Antton and livestreamed on Artzai Ona, followed by lunch and an afternoon full of fun for all ages, including dancing by the Gooding Gazteak, the local children’s dance group, and Boise’s Oinkari Basque Dancers. 58th Annual Reno Basque Festival
This weekend marks the 58th Annual Reno Basque Festival and they have an entire weekend planned to celebrate! The festivities begin on July 17th, Friday afternoon, at Lead Dog Brewing at 4pm with a Mus Tournament. Entrance is free and registration is not necessary but greatly appreciated. Saturday’s festivities, July 18th, begin at 10am with mass celebrated by Aita Antton and livestreamed on Artzai Ona, at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center. After mass, enjoy dancing by the Zazpiak Bat Txiki and Intermediate dance groups. Lunch will follow consisting of a Chorizo sandwich, salad, beans, cheese, and a glass of wine for only $20. After lunch, stick around for a weightlifting exhibition, a performance by the Zazpiak Bat adult dancers, contests including the Txinga carry for all ages as well as many vendors to enjoy. Chorizos will also be available for sale in the afternoon. Saturday evening, the action moves back to Lead Dog at 8pm for a social dance to the music of Izen Gabe. Continue to support the Basque club on Sunday at breakfast at Toro Bravo, beginning at 8am. Twenty percent of the proceeds will go back to the Zazpiak Bat Basque Club.
