Major Milestone for National Basque WWII Veterans Memorial
On April 7th, the Town Board of Gardnerville, Nevada approved the conceptual design of National Basque WWII Veterans Memorial, a significant step forward for a project that seeks to honor more than 2,160 men and women of Basque descent who served during World War II. This decision reflects not only institutional approval, but also strong community support. We are deeply grateful to the Town of Gardnerville, its representatives, the Mendiko Euskaldun Cluba, and all those who spoke in support of the project. The memorial will be the first of its kind at the national level, bringing together stories from across the United States, the Basque Country, and the global Basque diaspora.
As the project moves into its next phase, continued support will be essential to bring it to life. You can support the National Basque WWII Veterans Memorial here.
