International Mus Tournament Wraps Up
As we reported last week, the forty-sixty annual International Mus Tournament took place last week hosted by the Union Vasca Basque Club in Macachin, La Pampa Argentina. Thirteen teams representing nine different countries, Euskadi and Navarre, participated in the week-long tournament, with Bittor Lopez and Juan J. Meneses, representing Peru taking first place followed by Argentina’s A team, Mariano Iribarne and Edgardo Ratto, in second place. We are very proud of our NABO representatives Carmen Salaburu and Tony Huarte representing the U.S. and Julia Etchart and Patxi Altuna from Canada, each of whom held their own throughout the tournament. Again, the week was about way more than playing Mus. Besides the various fieldtrips, dinners etc. our own Pilota Chair, Tony Huarte also held pilota workshops between Mus games, while our Mus Delegate, Valerie Arrechea, worked with the local dance groups. Needless to say, a great time was had by all. Please enjoy these photos courtesy of Valerie Arrechea, Pierre Etcharren and Julia Etchart Christy. On behalf of NABO, Zorionak Deneri!
