Livestreamed Basque Mass
On weekends that don’t include a Basque festival or picnic, you can still enjoy mass celebrated by Aita Antton livestreamed through the Artzai Ona’s Facebook page. Running of the Bars
The Basque Museum and Cultural Center invites everyone to its annual Running of the Bars, this Saturday, July 12th from 5:00pm-10:00pm. This pub crawl inspired by the San Fermin Festival, will begin on the Basque Block in downtown Boise. Participants are encouraged to wear their traditional San Fermin gear, white shirts and pants with a red sash and scarf, to visit some of Boise’s favorite bars, including the Baque Center, Leku Ona, Tom Grainey’s, Cactus, Whiskey Bar, and Silly Birch. Each stop hosts unique activities from sheep shearing and bull roping to weight carrying. The evening will conclude back on the Baque Block with live music, dancing, delicious Basque food and drink and a raffle. All proceeds will go to supporting the Basque Museum’s mission. Pilota Camp

There are still a few spots available for Pilota Camp, July 22-25th in Boise for kids between the ages of 8-15. There are three sessions to choose from, and participants get the chance to learn from coaches from the Worl Pilota Association. For more information, or to enroll, click here.
Wyoming Sheep & Wool Festival
If you are fortunate enough to be in Buffalo, Wyoming this weekend, you are in for a real treat! The Wyoming Sheep & Wool Festival is taking place July 11-13th, at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. The three days are jam packed with activities for all ages, including some Basque themed events too. On Saturday, July 12th, join in on the Basque Heritage Wagon Tour that takes participants on a guided tour with local historian, Nancy Tabb, behind a team of horses. Also on the 12th, beginning at 9am is the Basque Ball Sheepdog Trial. For more information, or to register for the event, click here. The weekend also includes several exhibitions and workshops including one on wool dying presented by folks from Buffalo’s own wool mill Mountain Meadow Wool.
