Ateak IrekiThis Saturday, June 28th, 33 youth from various NABO Basque communities will descend on the Basque Country to participate in Ateak Ireki 2025. Ateak Ireki, which means open doors, is an opportunity for youth between the ages of 16-25 to learn more about their Basque culture, but also allows them to attend weekly Euskera immersion classes at Maizpide Barnetegi. Participants will stay with host families in Goierri, Gipuzkoa and the program includes visits and events all around the Basque Country, as well as time with host families to become more familiar with life in the Basque Country. Thanks to the generosity of program sponsors, participants are only responsible for their round-trip travel and insurance.
