Basque Museum Pilota Camp

Pilota CampRegistration is now open for the 2025 Basque Museum Pilota Camp, July 22-25th. There will be three sessions to choose from for kids between the ages of 8-15. Camp will be taught by Lur and Naroa, coaches from the Munduko Pilota Biltzarra (World Pilota Association), and cost to participate is $80 per session which includes a t-shirt, bag, and snacks. Colorado Euskal EtxeaAfternoon Social in Northglenn, Colorado

The Colorado Euskal Etxea will host an afternoon social this Sunday, June 22nd at the Prost Brewery in Northglenn from 1-4pm. This is an opportunity for everyone to get together and catch up, or maybe even play a little Mus. For more information, visit their website.

 

2025 NABO Mus Finals

Last Saturday, June 14th, the Los Banos Basque Club hosted this year’s NABO Mus Finals. The festivities began on Friday night at the M&M's Italian Restaurant for a meet and greet hosted by the Basque Club, and the tournament took place on Saturday at the Los Banos Sportsmen’s Association. Forty-three teams congregated on Saturday to vie for the opportunity to represent NABO at this year’s International Mus Finals in Macachin, Argentina. At the end of the day, Carmen Salaburu and Tony Huarte, came out on top representing Anaitasuna Basque Club (San Francisco, CA), while Steve Achabal and Edu Sarria came in second representing Boise Euzkaldunak. On behalf of everyone at NABO, Zorionak Deneri, and a special thank you to the Los Banos Basque Club for a wonderful weekend, full of wonderful food, and camaraderie. Also, a special thanks to Valerie Arrechea and Peyo Urrutia for running the tournament! Mila esker bihotz bihotzez.

 

San Juan Baque Festival at Txoko Ona

Txoko OnaPlease join our friends at the Txoko Ona Basque Club this Saturday, June 21st to celebrate the San Juan Eguna Basque Festival. The event will begin at noon with the Tony Larrocea 8 King Mus Tournament. Evening events begin at 6pm with dance and musical performances by the Oinkari Basque Dancers, the Herribatza Danzariak and Txantxangorriak. This will be followed by games for all ages, and live music by Triki Taka Stomp. At sunset, enjoy the bonfire and the performance of the San Juan Zortziko. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, and will include food, beverages. Chairs and shade canopies are welcome, but pets and outside food and beverages are not.
