Winnemucca 45th Anniversary Festival

Please join our friends at the Euskaldunak Danak Bat Basque Club for their 45th Anniversary Festival this weekend, June 14-15, 2025. The festivities begin on Friday at the Humboldt Museum with the Basque Festival Kick Off from 5-7pm. This event is open to the public and free of charge. Saturday’s events begin at 11am with a parade at 11am down Winnemucca Boulevard from the Model T to the Pump N Save. This will be followed by Opening Ceremonies on Nixon Lawn, at the West Hall of the Convention Center. Throughout the day there will be dance performances by the local Irrintzi Dance group as well as the Zazpiak Bat Basque Dancers from Reno, among others. In the evening, beginning at 6pm, there will be a public dance to the music of Mercedes Mendive and Bub’s Roadhouse Revival. For a complete schedule of events, click here.

Basque Government Now Accepting Grant Applications for 2025

The Basque Government’s Directorate for the Basque Community Abroad has opened the application period for the 2025 grants for Basque clubs and federations. To apply, a representative of your club/entity needs to apply for a BAK. All information regarding how to apply, and how to submit your grant application, is available here. Remember, all applications need to be in either Spanish or Basque, and the deadline to apply is June 27, 2025. NABO Mus Finals

The NABO Mus Finals will take place this weekend, June 14th in Los Banos. Winners of some 40 Basque clubs and entities will be in attendance, competing for the chance to represent NABO at the International Mus Tournament this fall in Macachin, Argentina. The event will begin on Friday night with a meet and greet at the M&M's Italian Restaurant from 5:30-7:30pm. On Saturday morning, tournament registration will begin at 7:00am at the Los Banos Sportsmen’s Association. A light breakfast, and lunch will be provided for participants, and guests are welcome to join for lunch around noon.
