Artzai Ona Elkarri Newsletter
The Artzai Ona Basque Catholic Community published it’s latest newsletter last week. This edition includes a collection of organ music to support Basque masses thanks to the efforts of Begoña and Candida Echeverria, Adan Fernandez and Amador Solis. All of the works featured are available on here. We are thrilled that Aita Antton has healed and is again able to celebrate mass every week. These masses are also livestreamed on the Artzai Ona Facebook page. The newsletter also provides opportunities to subscribe to it, or if you would like to support Aita Antton in his mission, there is information on how to donate as well. Basque Dinner in Orovada
If you are in the Orovada area this weekend, please join the Jackson Mountain Homemakers on Saturday, April 26th, for their annual Basque Dinner. The event takes place at the Orovada Community Hall beginning at 5:00pm. Besides a wonderful dinner of Lamb Stew, Chorizo, Basque Beans, Potatoes, Salad, Bread, Wine, and dessert, the evening will also include raffles and a live auction. Cost of the meal is $20 for adults and $10.00 for kids between the ages of 6-12. There will also be entertainment provided by the Winnemucca Irrintzi Dancers. Lagun Onak Mus Tournament
Please join our friends at the Lagun Onak Basque Club this Saturday, April 26th for their annual NABO Qualifying Mus Tournament. The Jose Mari Beristain Memorial Mus Tournament will be held at the Tap House Banquet Room with registration beginning at 9:00am and play beginning at 9:30am. Registration is limited to 24 teams and cost to participate is $40 Mus fee, and $40 club membership dues. To register, or for any questions, please email Amaya Beristain. Join them on Sunday, for the award ceremony and Aberri Eguna Picnic held at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park Group Area from 9:00am-5:00pm. Winners of this tournament will represent Lagun Onak at the NABO finals in June in Los Banos.
Santa Rosa Mus Tournament
Please join the Santa Rosa Basque Club on April 26th at the Community Hall for their annual NABO Qualifying Mus Tournament. Registration begins at 8:30am with play beginning at 9am. Cost to participate is $45 along with club membership dues. Mus fees include breakfast and lunch, and the winning team will receive money to represent the SRBC at the NABO finals in Los Banos, California on June 14th.
Southern California Basque Easter Mass
The Southern California Basque Club community will celebrate Easter this Sunday, April 27th beginning with mass at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church at 11:00am. After church, join them for a Basque breakfast at the Centro Basco from 10:00am-2:00pm with the last seating at 1:30pm. Cost of the meal is $22 for adults and $15 for children. Susanville Euskaldunak Mus Tournament
The Susanville Eskualdunak Basque Club will also be holding its annual NABO Qualifying Mus Tournament this weekend, on Saturday, April 26th at the Lassen Senior Services Center. Player check-in begins at 8:30am and tournament play will begin at 9:30am. All participants must complete a registration form and cost to participate includes Mus fees of $50 per person along with $20 club membership dues. A lamb chop lunch will be served around noon which is included in the Mus fees. If you would like to join them just for lunch, cost of the meal is $20.00 per person. For more information, click here.
