Basque Government's Andoni Martin Retires
After nearly forty years of service to Basques abroad, Andoni Martin has announced his retirement from the Directorate of the Basque Community Abroad where he worked as a technician. Andoni was not only always available to answer a question, or work through a grant-related issue, but he was also a very good friend to many Basques around the world. On behalf of everyone at NABO, we would like to wish him all the best in his retirement, and hope that he is able to enjoy a much-deserved rest. Oso ondo segi Andoni, eta mila esker zure laguntza eta adiskidetasunagatik!
Fresno Basque Club Mus Tournament
Please join our friends at the Fresno Basque Club for their annual NABO Qualifying Mus Tournament this Saturday at the Santa Fe Basque Restaurant. Deadline to register is today, February 20th, so don’t miss out and contact Dominique Etchechury ASAP. On Saturday, the event will begin at 7:30am with registration, with play beginning at 8:30am. Cost to participate is $20 for Mus and $35 for lunch, but if you would like to join them for lunch only, please reach out to Julie Sansinena-Rodriguez. Udaleku 2025
This year’s Udaleku will take place in Elko, Nevada hosted by the Elko Euzkaldunak June 22-July 4, 2025. If you have a child that would like to attend, please be aware that the intent to participate will open on March 1st at 6pm PST. Due to housing constraints, the Elko club has reduced the number of spots for kids coming from elsewhere, so don’t wait.
