A Message from NABO President, Jean Flesher

We would like to conclude this week’s edition of Astero by sending all our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the Southern California fires. President, Jean Flesher, shares the following:

On behalf of the entire North American Basque Organizations (NABO) Inc., I would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy, prayers and solidarity with our member clubs in Southern California—The Chino Basque Club, The Southern California Basque Club, The Los Angeles Oberena Basque Club and, The Ventura County “Itxaso Alde”  Basque Club---and all of their members and indeed with the entire Basque Community in Southern California that may have been affected by the disastrous fires and their aftermath. In addition, in fact, our prayers and sympathy go out to everyone in those communities regardless of ethnicity or background and we applaud the efforts of anyone and everyone who is helping in some way to ease the pain and suffering of those in need. Even though we don’t always publicize this, I’m sure that these same prayers and sympathy go out to everywhere in the world where people are suffering from natural disasters and other events that are completely out of their control. Please, if you can, find a way to contribute to a legitimate organization or grass-roots group who are striving to ease the pain and suffering of anyone who has lost someone, something, or more than likely, everything.
