Aita Antton and Artzai Ona are organizing a potluck Christmas reception on Monday, December 16th at 527 S. Whisperwood Way in Boise, Idaho from 5:00-9:00pm. This will be a great opportunity to visit with Aita and for him to catch up with old friends. Attendees are encouraged to bring something to share, soup, dessert, or a bottle of wine for example. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by emailing info@basquecatholic.org.
International Day of the Basque Language
As we reported last week, Nazioarteko Euskararen Eguna, or the International Day of the Basque Language is celebrated every year on December 3rd, on the feast of Saint Francis Xavier. NABO’s Euskara Coordinator, Dr. Edurne Arostegui, has shared the following regarding events organized to commemorate the day.

Mila esker/Eskerrik Asko to everyone who made an effort to make Euskara more visible in your communities on that day and every day! On behalf of everyone at NABO, we would also like to congratulate Edurne on graduating with her Ph.D. at UNR last Saturday! Zorionak Edurne!
Mintzodromo Connects Euskara Students
Twelve NABO Euskara students participated in the online Mintzodromo (Euskara speaking session) on November 15, organized by the Unión Vasca euskal etxea for the Euskal Astea (Semana Vasca/Basque week) celebrated in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. The Mintzodromo gave our students the chance to meet and speak with other Euskara students and native speakers from Argentina and beyond. Susana Siccardi, one of the Basque Museum’s Euskara teachers, led the effort to make this activity available online, and led the discussions. Click here to watch a short video of the speaking session. Eskerrik asko to Susana and the organizers of Euskal Astea for giving us the chance to participate, we hope to hold more events like these in the future.
Start off 2025 with a New NABO Calendar
Christmas is just around the corner, so if you are looking for a gift for those that have everything, why not a NABO Calendar? These calendars are compiled every year with photos and information on our NABO clubs. They make great keepsakes too and are a great way to see how much we accomplish annually as a federation. Some clubs sell these calendars as a fundraiser, so check with your club, or they can be ordered online, or by emailing Mary Lou Urrutia, Calendar Chair. You may also want to check out our new NABO Euskara water bottles.
