Creepy Casino Night at Utah Basque Club
Please join our friends at the Basque Club of Utah this Saturday, October 19th at the St. Vincent Benvegnu Center, from 6-11pm for their Creepy Casino Night. The festivities will begin with a potluck dinner and so everyone is asked to bring a salad, side dish, an entrée or dessert for 6-8 people. There will also be a self-serve bar. Costume contest voting will begin at 7:30pm and voters will receive their first round of chips. This will be followed by casino and kids’ Halloween games. Martin Goicoechea to be Honored in Hometown of Gorriti
This Saturday, Martin Goikoetxea will be honored in his hometown of Gorriti Nafaroa, with a Bertso Afaria at the town hall at 9pm. Participating Bertsolaris include Aitor Mendiluze, Maialen Arzalluz, Sebastian Lizaso, and Martin with Julio Sotok serving as gai-jartzailea, or the person who comes up with the topics. New York Marathon Reception at Delegation of the Basque Country
The Delegation of the Basque Country in the US will host a reception on Saturday, November 2nd, beginning at 9:30am for Basque runners participating in the New York City Marathon. The event will take place at its headquarters located at (820 2nd Ave, Suite 13B, New York, NY 10017). If you would like to attend, please RSVP by Thursday, October 24th by emailing usa@euskadi.eus and indicating your name, t-shirt size and the number of people in your party. Gau Beltza Fall Pintxo Pote in New York
Our friends at the Euzko Etxea of New York are also celebrating this weekend with their Gau Beltza – Fall Pintxo Pote. Everyone is welcome to wear their best costume and join in for some delicious Pintxos and Potes. The event begins at 6pm at the clubhouse (307 Eckford St, Brooklyn), and cost to attend is $25 for members and $45 for non-members if purchased online.
