San Inazio 2024
The Boise Euzkaldunak will host its annual San Inazio festivities this weekend, July 26-28, 2024. As always, the weekend will include lots of fun for all ages, including children’s activities, pilota with exhibitions by professional pilotaris from the Basque Country, a golf tournament, performances by local dance groups, Txantxangorriak, and mass at St. Mark’s Catholic Church with the participation of the Boise Oñati Dancers, and Biotzetik Basque Choir. Sunday, there will be a picnic at the Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park, followed by more pilota, performances and a street dance on the Basque Block. For more information, click here.
Ander Caballero Named as Secretary General of Foreign Relations
The President of Euskadi, Lehendakari Imanol Pradales, has been working on naming new cabinet members and various other secretaries and ministers and he has named Ander Caballero to head up his Office of Foreign Relations, replacing Marian Elorza who has been there for many years. Ander was originally the delegate of Euskadi to the United States at their office in New York City (that position is now held by Unai Telleria) from 2013 to 2018. He then decided to stay in the United States to pursue private interests and became involved in the New England Basque Club and was even a NABO delegate for their club. We would like to wish good luck to Ander Caballero in his new position, we will be working quite extensively with his undersecretary in the office of Basques in the Exterior as always, and we would like to thank Marian Elorza for all her work in the past and wish her the best for the future.
Astero will be taking next week off, but we’ll look forward to catching up on August 8th! Izan ontsa!
