Running of the Bars
Please join our friends at the Basque Museum and Cultural Center for this year’s Running of the Bars, on Saturday, July 13th from 5:00-10:00pm.� Everyone will gather on the Basque Block and then travel to the Basque Center, Leku Ona, Grainey’s, Cactus, Whiskey Bar, and Silly Birch, with a variety of activities at each stop for everyone to participate in.� The group will then return to the Basque Block for dancing, and more food and drinks. Besides being a lot of fun, it will also serve as a fundraiser for the BMCC. For complete information, or to donate, click here.
Pilota Camps in Boise
The Basque Museum and Cultural Center is also hosting two Pilota Camps, July 16-19, and July 22-25th giving our youth the opportunity to train with instructors from the World Pilota Association. Each camp is split into two sessions for different age groups, 9am-11am for kids between the ages of 8 and 11, and 11:30am-1:30pm for those between the ages of 12-16. Gaztemundu 2024
The call for applications for Gaztemundu 2024 has now been published in the Official Bulletin of the Basque Country.� Gaztemundu, the program aimed at youth from all over the world between the ages of 18-35, will take place September 15-29, 2024, in the Basque Country. This year'��s theme is Basque dance and there are only 15 spots available so don’t hesitate to apply.� Eligible participants must be between the ages of 18-35, live outside of the Autonomous Basque Community, be a member of an officially registered Basque club, and have completed a study on this year’s theme.
