EITB BasqueTV and Radio Distribution Gets Upgrade

EITB, Basque TV and Radio, is implementing the latest trends and technological developments to adapt its audiovisual content to digital consumption and distribute it while maintaining the highest quality standards. The international channel ETBBasque, which has traditionally been broadcast via satellite technology to cable operators in the Americas, will benefit from these technological improvements. As a result, on May 1, 2024, EITB will stop distributing its signal via satellite and will distribute it via IP technology over the Internet to cable operators. This change will lead to an increase in the quality of the signal and the option of a more personalized monitoring of the service. This technological transition is an important step for the EITB Group to continue to be a reference for the Basque language and Basque culture, as it will make the free streaming platforms PRIMERAN, MAKUSI and GUAU available to the global audience, in addition to the ORAIN news offerings. In this way, every household in the world will be able to access series, movies, documentaries, audiovisual products aimed at children and young audiences, podcasts, music, sound material and news in Basque. In addition, the general public has another option to consume EITB's main contents (including its TV and radio channels): through the free NAHIERAN app, available in the Android and IOS app stores, as well as depending on the Smartv version in its corresponding stores (LG, Samsung, etc.).  Please watch the video for complete information.
