Odolki Jana and Mini Mus Tournament in Utah

Basque Club of UtahPlease join the Basque Club of Utah this Saturday, March 2nd at 6:30pm for its annual Odolki Jana (Blood Sausage Dinner). The event will take place at the St. Vincent’s Benvegnu Center and the menu will include soup, odolkia or pork roast, mashed potatoes, salad, bread, cheese and dessert. Cost of the meal is $15 per person. Gooding DinnerFirst Friday Dinner in Gooding

Please join our friends at the Gooding Basque Association this Friday, from 6pm-8pm for its First Friday Dinner. The March 1st menu includes Lamb chops, Lamb Ribs, Cod Fish, Basque Rice, Soup, Salad, Basque Bread and lots of yummy desserts! Cost of the meal is $22/adults $20/Seniors (62+) $10 Child (12&under). Kern County Poker Fundraiser

County Poker FundraiserThe Kern County Basque Club is hosting a Poker Tournament Fundraiser this Saturday, at the Basque Club to raise money for the creation of a block wall. The event will begin with cocktails and heavy appetizers at 5pm and the tournament begins at 6pm. All participants will get two drink tickets and appetizers include lamb lollipops, lomo sliders, beef dip sandwiches, lukainka and bread, meats and cheeses, garlic soup, and chocolate chip cookies. The buy-in is $100 per player. This will be their last fundraiser for the wall, so the more the merrier!  For more information, see their flier.

 

Los Banos Annual Mus Tournament and Ladies' Night

Los BanosThe Los Banos Basque Club has a full day of fun planned for this Saturday March 2nd at the Sportsmen’s Club. The day will begin with their annual Mus Tournament.  Registration will begin at 7am and play will begin at 8am.  Cost to participate is $20 per player, plus $20 for lunch.  You must be a club member to play, so dues are also payable at the door. To register, or for more information please email Christopher Bengochea. After the tournament, stick around to join in on the Basque club’s Ladies Night. There will be no-host cocktails at 6pm followed by a dance performance by the local Basque club dancers. A steak dinner will be served at 7pm and the business meeting will take place at 8pm, and there will be a raffle afterwards. Udaleku 2024

UdalekuIf you have children between the ages of 10-15 who would like to learn more about their Basque culture, then please don’t miss out on applying for this year’s Udaleku this Friday, March 1st at 6pm (PST). Udaleku 2024, will take place at the Basque Cultural Center in San Francisco hosted by the Basque entities in the area, and the theme is Iparralde. Camp dates are June 16-28th, and tuition is $500 per participant with a 10% sibling discount. The application is a two-step process. On Friday, the intent to participate is completed, with the number of participants accepted depending on housing availability. If your child is within the acceptable number of participants, then you will receive a complete application to fill out. Financial aid is also available through the Aita Tillous Fund.
