New York Marathon Reception by the Basque Delegtion
The Delegation of the Basque Country to the US is reaching out to Basque runners participating in the 2023 New York City Marathon, along with their relatives and friends, to attend a reception on Saturday, November 4th at 9:30am at the Delegation’s Office. The Delegation will be providing runners commemorative running t-shirts from this year’s edition. Memorial Masses on Sunday, October 29
This Sunday, October 29th, there will be two Memorial Masses celebrated remembering the dearly departed of our Basque Community. The first will take place at the Basque Cultural Center in San Francisco, celebrated by Aita Antton Egiguren beginning at 10am PST. Mass will include the participation of the Elgarrekin Choir and the Zazpiak Bat Dancers honoring our deceased. If you can not attend in person, the mass will be livestreamed here. After mass, lunch will be served at 12:30. Please RSVP by calling (650)-583-8091 and ask for Francois Camou or Lindsay Campbell. For complete information, including lunch prices, click here. Later in the afternoon, at 2pm MST another Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boise. There will be a potluck to follow so attendees are asked to bring a bite, side or sweet to share, but nothing that requires heating up. International Mus Underway in Chile
Last Saturday, October 21st, the XLIV World Mus Championship of Basque Communities began in Valdivia, Chile. NABO is being represented by Aitor Berrueta and Philippe Elicagaray, accompanied by their spouses, and NABO Mus Chair, Pierre Etcharren. The tournament gathered ten teams representing eight countries, and after two days of tournament play, the US Team is doing very well. San Martin Dinner and Dance in Reno
Please join the Zazpiak Bat Basque Club on November 11th for its annual San Martin Dinner. The event will take place at the Reno American Legion Hall with doors opening at 5:30pm. The dinner menu includes steak, chicken and rice, salad, bread, cheese, dessert, and wine. After dinner, stick around for music, dancing, Mus, and socializing.
