Basque Club of Utah at Carmelite Fair
As we have reported several times, the Basque Club of Utah participates every year in the Carmelite Fair, the principal fundraiser for the nuns that includes a myriad of activities and contributions from various cultural groups in the area. This year’s event took place on Sunday, September 17th and once again the Basque club came out in force with dance performances as well as food sales. To enjoy some of the dancing, visit them on Facebook. Biba ziek!

Our friends at the Basque Educational Organization would like you to save the date for their upcoming Basque Cultural Day, on October 21st. The theme of this year’s event is “The Impact of Basque Women in America,” (Euskal Andreen Egintza Amerikan) and there is no shortage of powerful Basque women who will be part of the program. Hybrid Film Night in Seattle
The Seattle Euskal Etxea invites everyone to a its “Hybrid Fall Film Night,” on October 1st beginning at 6:00pm. The featured film is Ocho apelllidos vascos (Eight Basque Last Names) which is guaranteed to make you laugh. The event is hybrid because you can also watch the movie from home, if you prefer via Zoom, or you can come to Toni and John’s place and watch it in person. Club member Patty Jausoro, who is a producer and lives part time in Los Angeles, will moderate the evening, which will include a discussion after the film.
