Marie-José Durquet to be featured in Photography Festival in Donapaleu
Marie-Jose Durquet let us know that she will be part of a photo exhibition from June 15 to September 15, as part of 15 exhibitions featured at "Begirada," photography festival in St. Palais/Donapaleu. She will be exhibiting photos from Carnival in Guinea-Bissau, along with other photos of Basque Carnivals at the Hotel de La Paix. She will also exhibit photos of Basques of Northern California at the Espace Chemins-Bideak also in St. Palais/Donapaleu. The event invitation can be found here.
Euskaldunak Danak Bat 43rd Annual Festival
The Euskaldunak Danak Bat Basque Club in Winnemucca will celebrate its 43rd annual Basque Festival this weekend June 9th-11th. The festivities will begin on Friday, June 9th with a 5K at the Golf Course. To pre-register, please go to Second Street Seasonals. Events on Saturday begin at 11am with a parade downtown followed by a picnic, dancing, paella, and chorizos on the Nixon Lawn. Sunday will begin with mass celebrated by Aita Antton at the East Hall of the Convention Center at 9am followed by breakfast and more dancing. There will be vendors on hand for souvenir shopping, and live music by High Desert Habit. For more information, visit them on Facebook.
