BEO to Screen Maixabel
Please join the Basque Educational Organization this Friday for a screening of Maixabel directed by IcÌar BollaÌn, with guest speaker, Dr. Larraitz Ariznabarreta, from the Center for Basque Studies at UNR. The event will begin at 7:30pm at the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center. Admission is free, but since seating is limited reservations are required. BEO Scholarships
The BEO is also excited to announce that it will once again be awarding two $2,000 scholarships to students currently enrolled in a US affiliated accredited college or university, including incoming freshmen. For complete information, including how to apply, visit their website.
Susanville Eskualdunak Mus Tournament
Please join the Eskualdunak Basque Club in Susanville, CA this Saturday, April 22nd, for its annual Mus Tournament at the Senor Citizens Center. Registration begins at 8:30am, with tournament play beginning at 9:30am. Cost of the tournament is $50 plus $20 membership dues per person, which includes lunch. Lunch will be served around noon, and will include lamb chops, salad, cheese, bread and wine. Non-players are welcome to join them for lunch for $20. For more information, visit them on Facebook.
Las Vegas Lagun Onak Aberri Eguna and Mus Tournament
On Sunday, April 23rd, the Lagun Onak Basque Club in Las Vegas, will host its Aberri Eguna Picnic and the second annual Jose Mari Beristain Memorial Mus Tournament. Cost to participate is $35 and $40 membership dues, that includes lunch. You must be a club member to participate. Lunch will consist of Basque paella, ribs, salad, chorizo and dessert. Los Banos NABO Convention Weekend RSVP
The Los Banos Basque Club is the host of this year’s NABO 50th Anniversary Convention, in conjunction with its annual picnic, May 20-21st at the Los Banos Fairgrounds. There will be much in store for all ages including dancing, Bertsolaris, Klikas, and Mus. It will also be the site of this year’s NABO Txerriki Contest and the inaugural Gateau Basque Contest.
