Basque Government Grant Justification Deadline Is This Friday
Just a reminder that this Friday, March 31st is the last day to complete justification of your 2022 Basque Government Grant. If your club or entity received a 2022 grant, please go to euskaletxeak.eus and login to Extranet and click on justificatión de gastos to submit your receipts. Palm Sunday Celebration in South San Francisco
Please join the San Francisco Basque Club and Cultural Center this Sunday, April 2nd to celebrate Palm Sunday. The festivities begin at 9am at Notre Dame des Victoires for mass with the participation of the Elgarrekin Choir and Klika. Mass will be followed by pilota featuring local players at the SFBCC, and lunch at 12:30pm. RSVPs are required for lunch so please do so by emailing sfbccrsvp@gmail.com ASAP. Lunch will also include a special performance by vocalists performing traditional Jotas from Navarre, accompanied by Iñaki Reta on the accordion. Spring Dinner and Mus Tournament in Seattle
The Seattle Euskal Etxea is holding its Spring Dinner and Mus Tournament this Saturday, April 1st in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. Thanks to Ray Aspiri, the event will take place in the common space where he lives, that has a beautiful view of the Space Needle (2125 First Avenue). The event will also include music provided by Mercedes Mendive from Elko, NV. If you would like to attend, please email Nora Leech, and please invite your friends.
Reno Zazpiak Bat March Potluck and Mus Tournament
The Zazpiak Bat Basque Club is holding its annual March Potluck and Mus Tournament this Saturday, April 1st at the American Legion Hall (877 Ralston street). The day’s events will begin with Mus Registration at 8am followed with play beginning at 9am. The tournament fee is $30 per player, which includes coffee, pastries and lunch. You must be a Zazpiak Bat Basque Club member to participate, $30 for individuals and $50 for families, payable at the door. Doors will open at 11am for the potluck, and lunch will be served around 12:30pm. After lunch, there will be Bingo, and Zoe Bray will be doing a reading from her children’s book What Amatxi Whispered around 4pm. Chorizo and cheese will also be available for purchase later in the afternoon.
