Dance Lessons in Buffalo
Please join the Big Horn Basque Club Saturday evenings, at 6:30pm, for free Basque dance lessons for beginners. All ages are encouraged to participate, and you don’t have to be a member to join in. Lessons will take pace at the Catholic Rec. Hall. For more information, visit them on Facebook.
Kinku Zinkunegi is Awarded the Al Erquiaga Bizi Emankorra Saria

Last weekend, Kinku Zinkunegi, Coordinator of the Euskara Munduan Program at the Etxepare Basque Institute, was in Boise attending a workshop for NABO Euskara Teachers. We took advantage of his presence there to award him the Al Erquiaga Bizi Emankorra Award for his longtime support and dedication to NABO Euskara. NABO President, Philippe Acheritogaray Zoomed in to the meeting on Saturday along with NABO Vice-President, Annie Gavica, Treasurer, Mayi Petracek, Secretary, Kate Camino, and former Euskara Chair, Martin Goicoechea to present the award. Each one expressed their gratitude to Kinku, and Martin closed the presentation with a Bertso. Later Saturday night, Kinku was honored again at the Basque Center’s monthly dinner, where Todor Azurtza dedicated another Bertso to him. On behalf of everyone at NABO, we would again like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Kinku! Mila esker handi bat! NABO Euskara Teachers Gathered in Boise
Last weekend, NABO’s Euskara Coordinator, Edurne Arostegui, and NABO Euskara Chair, Ziortza G. Beldarrain, organized a gathering/workshop, Topaketa, for all NABO Euskara teachers at the Basque Museum and Cultural Center. The event was an opportunity for teachers to share their experiences, wants and needs with each other, as well as with the NABO leadership, and Kinku Zinkunegi, Coordinator of the Euskara Munduan Program at the Etxepare Basque Institute. On behalf of everyone at NABO, we would like to thank Edurne and Ziortza for putting on such a successful event, and a special Eskerrik Asko to everyone teaching Basque at our member clubs today!
