Halloween Pintxo-Pote in New York
The Euzko Etxea of New York, in collaboration with the Delegation of Euskadi in the United States is hosting a Pintxo-Pote Halloween get-together on October 22nd from 7:30pm-11:00pm. The event is an opportunity for members and non-members alike to get together and celebrate Halloween. Costumes are optional. Cost to attend is $25 for non-members and $10 for members. Jon Bilbao Basque Library Seeks Library Technician
The Jon Bilbao Basque Library at the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Library Technician 2. This position is responsible for managing circulation of materials, assisting users with library and online resources, developing metadata for digital items and uncatalogued books, and maintaining files for digital images and audio/video recordings, among other duties. Qualified applicants would have a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and would have three years of experience working in a library. 43rd World Mus Championships in Progress
As we reported last week, the 43rd World Mus Championships got under way last Saturday in Boise, hosted by the Boise Euzkaldunak. So far, besides playing some Mus, the group seems to be enjoying themselves, having toured and visited several interesting sites and Basque communities including Txoko Ona in Homedale, the Gooding Basque Association, and Euskal Lagunak in Mountain Home, besides the local Boise Basque community and Boise State University.
