This month they are featuring a new exhibit, “Memories of Boise: A Basque Boardinghouse,” with the artwork of Frank Goitia from 5pm-8pm. Admission is free and open to the public. Oinatz Bengoetxea Farewell Tour

Oinatz BengoetxeaPlease join the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center this weekend to wish Oinatz Bengoetxea the best of luck on his farewell tour. Professional Basque handball player Oinatz Bengoetxea is retiring from Professional handball after almost 2 decades. One of only 8 players throughout history that has managed to win the Manomanista (Singles), 4 ½ (Singles), and Doubles Professional handball tournaments. Traveling with Ibai Zabala, and Ion Erasun, both former pros, and Iñaki Lizaso on this tour, playing exhibition games in both San Francisco and Chino. Saturday’s event will begin at 5pm with handball followed by dinner at 6pm.  Admission is free to the games, and to RSVP for dinner, please email Tony Huarte. 2022 NABO Mus Finals

2022 Mus Winners

On June 18th, some 40 Mus teams gathered at the Chino Basque Club to compete in the 2022 NABO Mus Finals.  At the end of the day Juan Jose Vizcay and Felipe Cerdan, took first place, representing the Mendiko Euskaldun Cluba in Gardnerville. Second place went to Andres Lejardi and Jose Eugene from the Gooding Idaho Basque Club.  Zorionak deneri and a special Mila esker anitz to the Chino Basque Club for hosting, and to everyone who made this event possible.


Running of the Bars to Celebrate San Fermin

Running of the Bars - RenoToday, July 7th marks the beginning of the 7-day San Fermin Festival in the Basque Country.  To mark the occasion, the folks at the Zazpiak Bat Basque Club in Reno will hold a “Running of the Bars.” The event will begin at 6pm at the Nevada Sunset Winery, concluding at Louis’ Basque Corner with several stops in between.  Come dressed in your best white outfit, and red scarves will be available for purchase.  For more information, click here.
