Archive of the Basque Diaspora

The Archive of the Basque Diaspora, created in collaboration with the Basque Government’s Office for Basque Community Abroad, invites everyone to contribute to this shared project.  Created to preserve and protect the memories of those who have come before us, so that their stories are not lost, the archive welcomes artifacts, family heirlooms, photos, stories and so much more.  If you would like to contribute to the archive, email for more information.  For a glance of what it is all about, please enjoy this video.



Elko to Celebrate 58th Annual National Basque Festival

Elko FestivalThe Elko Euzkaldunak Basque Club invites everyone to join them in celebrating its 58th Annual National Basque Festival, July 1-3, 2022 at the Basque clubhouse.  Festivities will begin with a kick off at the Ogi Deli from 6pm-10pm featuring great food and live music.  Saturday’s events begin at 7am with a 5K, followed by a golf tournament. Festival events begin at 4pm at the clubhouse, followed by pilota and a public dance to the music of Amerikanuak and HighJacked.  Sunday begins with pilota in the city park, followed by a sheepherder’s bread contest, mass, more food, fun and dancing.  For a complete schedule of events including locations, contact information etc. click here.


Southern California Basque Club's 76th Annual Picnic

Southern California Basque ClubThe Southern California Basque Club will also host its 76th annual picnic this weekend, July 1-3rd at the Chino Fairgrounds, with the main event on Sunday.  Friday, please join them at the Centro Basco for a social hour beginning at 5pm.  Saturday, enjoy pilota and pala at the Aphessetche Trinketa beginning at 3pm. Lukainka and other concessions will be available for purchase. On Sunday, festivities will begin at 10:30am with mass with the participation of the local Klika and dancers.  Mass will be followed by a lamb lunch served at 1pm and the afternoon will include dance performances by the local groups.  Basque vendors will also be on site providing ample opportunities to shop.  Lukainka sandwiches will be available for purchase, and the Jean Flesher Band will provide music for your dancing pleasure until midnight.  For complete information, see their flier here.
