Eighty-nine kids between the ages of 10-15 will gather in Bakersfield for a shorter, but not less intensive, Udaleku where they will learn more about their culture from local experts, as well as instructors from the Basque Country. They will have the opportunity to learn more about Basque dance, txistu, pilota, Euskera, as well as learn more about the Bakersfield Basque community while residing with local Basque families, all while making new friends. Everyone is invited to the final performance where participants will have a chance to show off all that they have learned. The final performance will be on Saturday, June 25th at the clubhouse. Please RSVP, and order any food you may be interested in by clicking on this link. Food will be served at 5:30pm with the performance beginning at 7pm. All payments must be received online, or in person by check at the event. Please do not mail payments to the club directly. Please spread the word and make sure these kids feel appreciated for their efforts at Udaleku, as well as everyone who made this year’s camp possible.
