Applications Open for Jon Bilbao Research Fellowship
The Jon Bilbao Basque Library and the Center for Basque Studies, in collaboration with the Etxepare Basque Institute, have announced that applications are now being accepted for the 2022 Jon Bilbao Research Fellow. The aim of this program is to expand opportunities to collaborate in Basque Diaspora research, as well as increase awareness about the Basque Diaspora in the United States. Eligible applicants would have a Ph.D. and would be university professors or researchers with experience in research on the Basque Diaspora. They would also be proficient in English and not have received this fellow in the last four years. The length of stay at UNR would be one month to conduct research in the Basque Library. Los Banos Drive Thru Lamb Stew Dinner
The Los Banos Basque Club will host a Drive Thru Lamb Stew Dinner on February 8th from 5pm-7pm at the D.E.S. Hall. Each dinner for two includes stew, salad and rolls. Tickets are available from several individuals whose contact information is included here. On egin!

Monique Berterretche (1931 - 2022)
We were shocked and saddened to learn that Monique Berterretche passed away in Chino, California, on February 1st after a brief hospital stay due to COVID. A complete obituary and service information will be provided at a later date, but on behalf of everyone at NABO, we wanted to express our most sincere condolences to all of Monique’s family and friends, and especially to her daughter Mayi who has served as NABO Treasurer since 2015. May the many wonderful memories of your mother, carry you all through this most difficult time. Goian bego.
