Regina Bastida Aldecoa's 100th Birthday Celebration
Please join the Boise Basque community in celebrating Regina Bastida Aldecoa’s 100th birthday on January 7th from 1:00-3:00pm at Sacred Heart (811 S Latah St, Boise, ID 83705). Please no gifts, and masks are a must. Regina is a charter member of Euzkaldunak, and has served on its board as well as the Oinkari’s first business manager. Professionally she was a nurse anesthetist, and as such helped many Basques navigate the healthcare system. The event is open and everyone is welcome. Zorionak Regina!
Dantza Munduan: Registration Open Until January 8
If you live in the Diaspora and would like to learn Basque dance virtually, this is the program for you. Encouraged by last year’s success, the Basque Government’s Directorate for the Basque Community Abroad announces the second edition of Dantza Munduan. As last year’s edition, this year’s classes will also be provided remotely allowing Basques around the world to take advantage of the Aiko Taldea’s dance expertise. EuskarAbentura 2022 Now Accepting Applications
The 2022 EuskalAbentura program is now accepting applications. If you are a youth living in the Diaspora between the ages of 16 and 17, you are eligible to participate in this unique program that will take you through the Basque Country on foot. This year’s program will begin in Maule (Zuberoa) and will conclude in Getxo, Bizkaia. Participation is free, however you need to be able to speak Basque and want to get to know Euskal Herria during a month, all while making a ton of friends. To apply, each individual needs to submit a minute-long presentation video, along with a project from the options proposed by the organizers. Deadline to apply is March 4th.
