Iparreko Ibarra Picnic and Mus Tournament
The Iparreko Ibarra Basque Club invites everyone to join them on October 9th for their annual Basque Picnic, this year in conjunction with their Mus Tournament. Festivities will begin at 8am with Mus Registration, followed by tournament play at 9am and lunch at noon. Picnic events will begin around 2pm with Mass (TBD), and dance performances by the local dancers and the San Francisco Zazpiak Bat Dancers, followed by a weight carrying competition. A BBQ Lamb and Chicken Dinner will begin at 6pm and a public dance will follow to the music of the Jean Flesher Band. Kern County Basque Club Mus Tournament
The Kern County Basque Club will host its Mus Tournament this Saturday, October 2nd, at the KCBC. Any interested players should email Kathy Iturriria to register. Prior registration is appreciated so name tags will be ready and you will be able to pay your 2021 Membership Dues, and Mus fees. Doors will open at 7:30am and the tournament will begin at 8:30am. Cost to participate is $40 that includes breakfast, lunch and snacks. Weather permitting; the tournament may take place in the park. Las Vegas Lagun Onak 40th Annual Picnic
The Lagun Onak Basque Club in Las Vegas invites everyone to its annual picnic and to celebrate its 40th anniversary on Sunday, October 10th at the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. The day’s festivities will begin at 11am with mass, arriving at 10:30am is recommended. Mass will be followed by lunch including traditional Basque paella, ribs, salad, chorizo and dessert. Cost of the meal is $20 per person, $10 for kids 12 and under. The Chino Basque Club’s Gauden Bat Dancers will also provide entertainment.
