San Inazio Festival in Boise
The Boise Euzkaldunak will celebrate its annual San Inazio festival this weekend. The festivities will begin on Friday evening with Pilota, and will conclude on Sunday with the traditional family picnic in the Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park. There is a new element added to this year’s event, the club’s annual Mus Tournament that will take place on Saturday with registration beginning at 8am. Participants must be current club members, and membership is payable at the door along with Mus fees. Winners of this tournament will advance to the regional Mus Tournament to be held at a date yet to be determined. Saturday will also include mass at St. Mark’s Catholic Church featuring the Oñati Dancers performing the Korpus dances. Basque Government Grant Budget Approved
The budget for the 2021 Basque club/federation grants awarded by the Basque Government was approved at this Tuesday’s meeting of its Government Council. The total budget remained the same as the last grant cycle at 902,305 Euros. These funds are earmarked for awards in two categories: Chapter IV which includes operating expenses and activity funding enjoys a budget of 782,305 Euros, while the remaining 120,000 Euros is allocated to Chapter VII for infrastructure and equipment expenses. As with other items approved at Tuesday’s meeting, the budget will go into force once published in the Official Bulletin of the Basque Country. The deadline to apply will then be a month from the day after its publication. We will be sure and alert NABO clubs regarding these dates once they are announced.
