San Francisco Basque Club 61st Anniversary to be Celebrated with Mass

SFBCThis weekend the San Francisco Basque Club would have celebrated its 61st anniversary.  Since in-person celebrations are still limited, they will mark the date instead with mass celebrated by Aita Antton on Sunday, June 6th the Feast of Corpus Christi. The mass will be for the intentions of the Basque community, with a special remembrance of their dearly departed. Mass will be livestreamed beginning at 8am (PST) from the Artzai Ona Facebook Page. You will find the link to the missal here


Boise Euzkaldunak Monthly Dinner

EuzkaldunakOur friends at Euzkaldunak will host their June Monthly Dinner on Sunday June 13th again as a Curbside Pickup.  Meals will be available for pick up on the 13th from 5-6pm, and RSVPs are required by June 9th at 8pm (MST). Price of the meal is $15 regardless of member status, and this month’s hosts are the Euzkaldunak Board of Directors and friends.  The menu includes: Tossed Salad with Oñati Dressing, Basque Meatballs in Tomato Sauce, Alaska Cod Romana with Lemon and Butter Sauce, Clams and Rice Lekeittiarra, Homemade Bread and Butter, and Caramel Flan.  To RSVP, and purchase dinner tickets visit their website.

Picasso Presents Gernika Screening at Euzko Etxea

Picasso Presents GernikaThe Euzko Etxea of New York invites everyone to a screening of “Picasso Presents Gernika” on Saturday, June 5th at 6pm. The story was inspired by a story told Dr. Begoña Echeverria by a British friend about her own father and the history of Picasso’s “Guernica.” This docudrama is about the child refugee crisis that was the result of Hitler’s 1937 bombing of Gernika, and Picasso’s artistic response to the horrific event.  The work’s author, Dr. Begoña Echeverria will attend along with theater scholar Dr. Annika Speer who collaborated with Echeverria on the project. San Francisco Basque Club Mus Tournament

SFBC MusThe San Francisco Basque Cultural Center will host its annual Mus Tournament this Sunday, June 6th beginning at 7:30am.  This is a members-only event and cost to participate is $20. RSVPs are required and can be made by emailing  If you are interested in staying for the members-only lunch, please indicate that in your RSVP as well since lunch is not included as part of the tournament. Masks are required, regardless of vaccination status, and clear masks, allowing keinuak, will be available on site for purchase.  Tournament winners will advance to the Northern California Regional Finals to be held at a later date.  For more information, click here.
