Basque Museum and Boiseko Ikastola Auction

Boiseko Taupada Radio Show
The radio show, Boiskeo Taupada hosted by Madalen Bieter Lete is back. The program is now broadcast every Friday from 12:00-2:00pm (MST) thanks to KBGA Radio College Radio at the University of Montana Missoula. The program that includes music and commentary in English and Basque began in Boise and now thanks to the collaboration of the University of Montana, has resumed while Madalen continues her graduate studies there. Euskal Etxea in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon Seeks Cultural Animator
The Euskal Etxea in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon is looking for a cultural animator familiar with Basque culture to work at the club June-September 2021. Interested individuals should be fluent in French, be familiar with several aspects of Basque culture, should to take initiative and have a talent for entertaining. They should also be able to organize basic workshops in Basque language and culture, create material to enrich the club’s activities, and participate in the EESPM annual festival. New Spotify Playlist
NABO Music Programs Director, Mikaela Goicoechea has shared the latest addition to the NABO Spotify Playlist. This playlist includes covers of Basque traditional songs, dances, and genres as well as a few covers of other recognizable tunes in Euskera. Mikaela was aided in this effort once again by Madalen Beiter Lete from Boiseko Taupada. Mila esker bioi!
The Eighth Province Tells The Story of Bakersfield Basques
We are happy to share the news that the short film The Eighth Province is available this month, through April 30th, to view as part of the Smithsonian’s Mother Tongue Film Festival. The film tells the story of Basques immigrants in Bakersfield, California who “have worked hard to sustain their language and pass down musical traditions through community efforts.” The film directed by Kyle Baker is in Basque and English.
