Barbot Etchepare Basque Imports Open for Business

Barbot EtchepareChino Basque Club’s virtual picnic is right around the corner, on September 6th.  As many clubs have suffered from the cancellation of their events, so have the vendors who also traditionally participate at our picnics and festivals.  One of these is Barbot Etchepare Basque Imports.  If you are looking for something to wear or a gift idea, maybe some Basque music, jewelry or kitchenware, they are available to help you.  Visit their website to browse all their wares, or maybe even pick up a new children's book by Chino’s own Begoña Echeverria and Lara Scott. You can also check out other Basque vendors here.

PlazandreakXabier Berrueta has shared some pilota news with us this week too.  On Thursday, August 27th, at 11am PST, or 8PM Basque Country time you can enjoy the Final of the Women’s Doubles in Eskuz handball.  “The neskak have been battling it out on a weekly basis since the beginning of July, and this final is the culmination of the Txapelketa.”  Matches will be aired live on EITB Zuzenean, but if you missed the live show, you can always watch the recorded version on EITB NAHIERAN. Due to the pandemic, the players were unable to inaugurate the newly refurbished fronton at the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center, however, we look forward to seeing them there next August.
