Basque-English Mass with Aita Antton
Last week we mistakenly reported that Aita Antton would be celebrating mass in honor of Seattle’s Euskal Etxea last weekend. We apologize for any confusion, but invite you attend this weekend’s mass on Sunday that will be commemorating the Seattle annual picnic as well as honoring members of that Basque community who have passed away, or who are ill. As always, mass will be on Facebook Live beginning at 8:15am PST, or can also be watched later on by clicking on the video link on the Artzai Ona Facebook Page. Txak Talk Online Preview
The Basque Museum and Cultural Center in Boise is proud to present “Txak Talk” on Friday, August 28th with a presentation from Dr. Kerri Lesh. This event is an “online preview” to the much anticipated and delayed “Txak on the Block!” event. There are two ways of participating: for $25 you will be registered in the Zoom presentation, as well as receive a bottle of Txakoli. If you’d prefer to hear the talk and purchase your own Txakoli, the cost is $5. If you need help finding Txakoli in your area, please email Kylie Bermensolo. Spots are limited so register right away. Chino 2020 Virtual Picnic
The Chino Basque Club has let us know that it will be hosting its 2020 picnic virtually via YouTube on Sunday September 6th, and they invite everyone to join in. The day will begin with Aita Antton celebrating mass at 11am, followed by everyone sharing how you will be celebrating this year: Will you be playing mus? Hosting a lunch? Or maybe a virtual cocktail with friends? All that is required is a Gmail account or a Facebook page. If you would like to participate, please see their flier for instructions on how to do so.
