This Sunday's Mass with Aita Antton
This weekend would have been the Big Horn Basque Club’s annual Andre Dena Mari celebration on August 15th, as well as Seattle Euskal Etxea’s annual summer picnic. As such, Aita Antton will celebrate mass this Sunday commemorating both picnics. Intentions for the mass will be for the members of both Basque communities who have passed away during the last year, and for those who are sick. Mass will be aired on Facebook Live beginning at 8:15am PST, or can also be watched later on by clicking on the video link on the Artzai Ona Facebook Page. Las Vegas Annual Celebration Postponed to 2021
We have been contacted by Jose Mari Beristain, president of the Lagun Onak Basque Club in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, as all other Basque gatherings, their annual celebration that was planned for October 4, 2020 has now been postponed until next year to be held on October 3, 2021. “I want to thank all of our great membership and others who have always supported our efforts here in Las Vegas. Stay safe! Laster arte,” Jose Mari Beristain.
Picon Open in Susanville
On a happier note, the Susanville Basque Club is going forward with its Picon Open. The event will take place this Saturday, August 15th and begins at 9:30 am at the Diamond Mountain Golf Course. They are putting measures in place to ensure that everyone is social distancing and staying safe. Cost of the tournament is $100 per player for this 4-person team scramble.
