Culture Coffee Break with the Basque Museum

GaztemunduOn July 10, you are invited to join Kylie Bermensolo, the Basque Museum's Education Specialist, for a “Culture Coffee Break.” Kylie will be joined by some of her colleagues from the 2019 Gaztemundu program from Argentina to discuss the “differences and similarities between Basque clubs and culture in the US and South America.” The event is limited to 100 people and requires prior registration to participate.  To register visit them on Facebook or their website, and if you have specific questions ahead of time, please email those to Kylie. The event will begin at 11am MST or 2pm in Argentina and 7pm in the Basque Country.  So grab your favorite beverage and tune in to what promises to be a very informative exchange.

San Fermin 2020

San FerminAs many are aware, this week is San Fermin a celebration that runs every year from July 6-14th.  Due to the pandemic and restrictions in many places around the world, face-to-face have been limited, however this hasn’t deterred many Basque and Navarrese clubs from celebrating on social media sharing videos, dances, song, traditional dishes, and even contests.  To learn more about the history of San Fermin and the different aspects of the celebration centered in Iruña-Pamplona, click here. Our colleague Joseba Etxarri at EuskalKultura.eus has also shared how many clubs around the world are celebrating, online and in some cases with limited face-to-face events.  Below you can get a glimpse of this year's celebration in Iruña-Pamplona and see how they are hoping for a strong return in 2021. Gora San Fermin!
