Ansots Basque Chorizos & Catering Soon Opening Boise
Dan Ansotegui is a well-known figure in our Basque communities for many reasons. Some know him as a musician having participated in several bands over the years, and most recently, Amuma Says No, or instructor and founder of the Txantxangorriak Trikitixa players, or from the Bar Gernika, or The Basque Market that he established on Boise’s Basque Block, or even for being honored by the National Endowment for the Arts as a National Heritage Fellow, and the list goes on. We have now learned that he is undertaking a new endeavor with his wife Tamara and daughter Ellie, “Ansots Basque Chorizos & Catering” slated to open in July, located at 560 W. Main St. in Boise. As he told the Idaho Statesman “Part bistro, part caterer, part wholesaler, it’s different than any restaurant that I’ve done before.” On behalf of everyone at NABO we would like to wish everyone involved much luck in this latest enterprise. Basque Masses and Rosaries Live with Aita Antton
As we shared in earlier posts, Aita Antton Egiguren has been broadcasting Facebook live videos of Basque-English Mass and Basque rosaries through the page of St. Patrick's Parish and Our Lady of Mercy. As of yesterday, his Basque live videos are being shared through the Artzai Ona Basque Catholic Community Facebook page. Many of you have tuned into these Masses over the last several weeks. The Basque community is grateful to Aita Antton for making it possible for us to attend Mass virtually and for keeping an important part of our summer picnic traditions alive during the pandemic. To make sure you don't miss any live videos, be sure and visit Artzai Ona Basque Catholic Community on Facebook and like the page. Eskerrik asko, Aita Antton, Saint Patrick's and Artzai Ona!
