Gardnerville 2020 Picnic Cancelled
The Mendiko Euskaldun Cluba in Gardnerville, Nevada has let us know that their picnic too has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus. Again, a difficult decision, but always in the best interest of all those who attend. To read the note from club president, Anita Izoco, click here. This will make next year’s 40th anniversary celebration just that much more special! They are still holding out hope to host their annual Mus Tournament in the fall, so we can still look forward to that.
Picon Open Set for August 15
Some good news! The Susanville Basque Club is still planning on holding its annual Picon Open Golf tournament on August 15th at Diamond Mt. Golf Course. This tournament is a fundraiser for the club’s scholarship program for high school seniors planning on attending a two- or four-year college. Over the last three years, these have been awarded to seven graduating seniors, and this year’s winners are Logan Ernaga, Gabriela Nielson and Isaiah Trevizu. Jeannot Acheritogaray (1936-2020) Goian Bego
We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jeannot Acheritogaray in San Francisco. Jeannot is the father of NABO president, Philippe Acheritogaray, and Robert Acheritogaray who is now living in Ortzaize, Behe Nafarroa. On behalf of everyone at NABO, our sincerest condolences to his wife, sons, and their families, as well as to his many friends. May He Rest in Peace, Goian Bego.
