Basque Soccer Friendly Posponed Until 2021

This week we heard from our friends from Basque Soccer Friendly, letting us know that the soccer games scheduled for this July have now been postponed until July 2021 due to the Coronavirus. The games were to have included professional men’s and women’s teams from the Basque Country and North America at Boise State University’s Albertson’s Stadium, as five years ago, when players from La Liga’s Athletic Club Bilbao played against Liga MX’s Club Tijuana on July 18, 2015. Since plans for these soccer matches were well under way, organizers of the event are now selling limited edition Kuadrilla 2020 t-shirts online to benefit St. Luke’s Covid-19 Response Fund. Basque Government Update on Grants, Gaztemundu

Gorka Alvarez, Director of the Basque Government’s Department for the Basque Community Abroad, has issued an update on the grants for individuals in dire need, as well as 2020 Gaztemundu. Even though both proposals have been approved by the Governing Council, neither deadline will now be published until the Coronavirus has passed.
