Astero
We were hoping to share some good news today, but unfortunately, all we have are cancellations and postponements. On behalf of everyone at NABO, we wish you all the best for your good health and spirits, and know that many in our Basque community are sharing positivity on social media, so hope you are taking advantage of that! Bitartean, Besarkada Handi Bat Dener!
Recent Closures and Postponements and Cancellations
The Board of Directors at Boise Euzkaldunak have decided in the best interest of “our employees, members, guests, and community,” to close the Basque Center Bar and facility until further notice. This includes the entire Basque Center including the hall, basement, card room and bar. The note ends with, “We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times, and appreciate your help passing the word on to other members.”
In the same way the Euzko Etxea of New York has let us know that they have decided to postpone its annual Aberri Eguna events out of concern for the well-being of its members and friends. For more information visit their website.
The Kern County Basque Club has also decided to cancel its Easter festivities. “While this was a decision the Board didn't take lightly, we made it keeping in mind the health and safety of our members and friends. We would like to thank Monsignor Swett who was willing to celebrate Easter mass for all of us...along with our Klika, Choir and First Communion kids who were looking forward to making the day more special.”
