A Look Back at Mendiko Euskaldun Cluba's Tripota Jatea

Mendiko Euskaldun ClubaThe Mendiko Euskaldun Cluba in Gardnerville, Nevada hosted its annual Tripota Jatea last Sunday, February 9th at the Carson Valley Country Club.  Besides tripota, the menu also included soup, chicken, salad, French fries, cheese and ice cream.  After lunch, many stuck around to visit with old friends, or even play some Mus.  To enjoy photos from the day, visit them on Facebook.

 

Recent Mus Results

There have been a few Mus tournaments over the past two weeks and so we would like to share some results with you.  First, the Basque Center in Boise hosted its Mus Tournament on February 1st.  First place went to Martin Bilbao and Tyler Smith, and coming in second were Tony Larrocea and Juan Egaña.  Both teams will be able to compete at the NABO Mus Finals in Los Baños later this spring.  The Big Horn Basque Club held its annual Mus Tournament last Saturday, February 8th at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.  Winners of that tournament all represent the Rodriguez family.  First place went to father and son team, Tony and Michael Rodriguez, with Mike’s kids, Baileigh and Layne Rodriguez, taking second.  Finally, on Sunday February 9th, the San Francisco Basque Club hosted its annual tournament.  First place went to father and daughter team, Isabelle Ocafrain Bushman and Jean Leon Ocafrain, with second place going to none other than the Oroz brothers, taking third were Jean Pierre Ansola and Jean Cordova. Winners of that tournament all represent the Rodriguez family.  First place went to father and son team, Tony and Michael Rodriguez, with Mike’s kids, Baileigh and Layne Rodriguez, taking second.

Txoko Ona Mus Tournament

Txoko Ona MusThe Txoko Ona Basque Club in Homedale, Idaho will host its annual Mus Tournament this Sunday, February 16th at 9am.  Registration and breakfast will begin at 9am with tournament play beginning at 10am.  Cost to participate is $35 for club membership, $10 NABO Mus fee, and $20 for breakfast and lunch.  Winners will then represent Txoko Ona at the upcoming NABO Mus Finals in Los Banos.
