Boise Euzkaldunak Winter Events
This weekend there will be two celebrations for the younger set at Boise Euzkaldunak on Sunday, December 8th. The first is the Boiseko Winter Show that will take place at Borah High School beginning at 12:30pm. The show will start with the Txantxangorriak followed by the dancers. Admission for the event is a can of food for the food drive for a local food bank. After the show, head back to the Basque Center for the annual Euzkalduank Children’s Christmas Party beginning at 2:15pm. The afternoon will include Christmas Carols, goodies and a visit from the Olentzero. Parents are encouraged to bring a wrapped gift for their children. Euskararen Eguna and Christmas Party in Vancouver
The Zazpiak Bat Basque Society in Vancouver will celebrate International Euskera Day and its annual Christmas Party this Saturday, December 7th beginning at 5:30 pm. The festivities will begin with a visit from the Olentzero followed by dinner. The menu includes Basque fish soup, Vegetable Lasagna, Salads, Lamb Roast with Potatoes, rolls, assorted cakes and coffee. Cost of the meal is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Kids 12 and younger are free. Please RSVP ASAP by emailing bcbasque@bcbasque.com. Please include the number of children in your party 12 and under so the Olentzero is guaranteed not to forget anyone.
