Basque Museum WineFest
The Basque Museum and Cultural Center, in Boise, invites everyone to join them this Friday, August 16th for its annual WineFest beginning at 5:30pm on the Basque Block. The event will include more than 100 wines from various vendors, along with pintxos provided by local restaurants. There will also be opportunities to win raffle prizes, and dance to live music. Big Horn Basque Club Picnic
The Big Horn Basque Club in Buffalo, Wyoming, will celebrate its annual picnic this Saturday, August 17th, in Kaycee, Wyoming at the Harrold Jarrard Park. Festivities will begin at 10:30 am with a Sheep Dog Trial followed by a social hour at the Invasion Bar. The afternoon will include a Sheep Hooking Contest, and mass celebrated by Aita Antton Egiguren at 4pm. After mass, stay for dinner and dancing to the music of the Jean Flesher Band. New England Basque Fest
The New England Basque Club will host its annual Basque Fest also on Saturday, August 17th beginning at 11am in New London, at the Parade Plaza. The day will include activities that celebrate “our rich culture and history” featuring Herri Kirolak (Basque rural sports), a variety of paellas and pintxos, Basque dancing featuring the Ardi Baltza dancers from Lamoille, Nevada, and musical performances. Time is running out to purchase tickets so click here ASAP! Cost of the tickets is $30 for adults that includes three pintxos, a serving of paella and a water. Andra Mari Picnic in Vancouver
The Zazpiak Bat Basque Society in Vancouver, Canada is hosting its annual “Andra Mari” Picnic this Saturday, August 17th at the Lower Hume Park, New Westminster beginning at 1pm. The afternoon will include a buffet lunch of assorted salads, Marmitako, BBQ lamb, desserts, coffee and soft drinks. RSVPs are appreciated by emailing bcbasque@bcbasque.com.
