Mural Inaugurated In Boise
Yesterday, the Basque Museum and Cultural Center in Boise inaugurated a new and improved Basque mural. The ceremony took place yesterday morning, with members of the Basque community coming together to re-inaugurate the mural located on the Anduiza Fronton Building on Grove Street. The original mural, inaugurated in 2000, had started to show its age, and so Boise's Department of Art and History commissioned its restoration. The new mural is identical to the original, but has been fortified to better withstand the elements. Our congratulations to Annie Gavica, the Museum's Executive Director, and everyone involved in this wonderful tribute to the Basques in Idaho. For complete information, including those who made the restoration possible, visit the Museum's website here. To read an article on the inauguration in the Idaho Statesman click here.
